The Windmills of Their Minds

windmills Minds?

It is time to reset our expectation of democracy. We have drifted into a situation where people vote for politicians who, mostly, ignore their duty. That duty is to protect the nation and its people. To create an environment where, in security, hard work is rewarded and people can flourish peacefully under the law. Perversely, politicians have adapted that to a belief that they are rulers who need only occasional ballot box confirmation. That would be bad enough, but in reality politicians have abrogated their duty. The real rulers are the Civil Service and their friends in so-called Charities and the Media. It is they who decided to give away our democracy by joining the Common Market. They concocted the lies. They twisted truth as Maastricht and Lisbon tightened the noose around democracies throat.

The blob pushes its own agenda. It is unaccountable and beyond supervision. It has perverted normal standards. Schools and universities are suffering because of its false dogmas. Suella Braverman's decision to attack this unholy alliance is welcome. It should be a firm policy throughout government, National and Local.

Having succeeded in bringing down Boris Johnson they are emboldened. Early signs are that they are gearing up for an attack on Liz Truss. She and Johnson share guilt for the crime of being democrats. An intolerable condition in Blobthink. The vitriolic spite that brought down Johnson was based on the same things that could, equally, have been levelled at Kier Starmer. The difference is that Starmer led the attempts to overthrow democracy. Johnson led the fight to respect it.

Policies that are against the interest of the country, have led us to a dark place. Falling incomes, high taxes, exorbitant housing costs, reliance on often malign Countries for essentials. A focus on what one is allowed to say by the habitually hurt feeling blob. Of course, it's a game. If the blob had feelings we would not be in this mess. The oldest trick in the book is to create non problems and use them as camouflage.

The UKs present energy crisis is an object lesson. A combination of sloth, stupidity and Net Zero mania has brought us to a point where many will not be able to afford to heat their homes or cook their food. Industries have closed because of high energy costs. It should never have come to this. We are blessed with huge reserves of Oil, Gas and Coal. Not only should we enjoy cheap energy domestically and industrially, but the fruits of an export boom too. Successive governments have condemned us to a bleak future. We have been condemned not because of science, but pig headed fantasy fuelled ignorance. Replacing reliable fossil fuels with unreliable wind and solar is an act of grotesque self harm. It is self-harm inflicted upon this country without discussion. Without democratic agreement.

The world, at least our part of it, is to be electric. From 2030 the sale of petrol and diesel cars will be banned. From 2040, or earlier, the sale of petrol and diesel heavy goods vehicles will be banned. Domestically, gas boilers will be banned in new builds and unavailable as replacements after 2035. This is all part of the government's Green Industrial Revolution. The idea of a modern industrial society depending on non storable energy has more to do with Greta Tintin Eleonora Ernman Thunberg than science.

The green dream of a pre-industrial life may yet see food shortages. This is not alarmist. Sri Lanka is facing famine and economic collapse because of its Green Revolution. Despite boasting of its Green Credentials the World Bank has so far refused to help Sri Lanka cope with the result. Farmers in the Netherlands are fighting their governments attempt to destroy much of that countries agriculture. As the world's second largest food exporter the Dutch government's actions are a concern for the world and its ability to feed eight billion inhabitants.

The renewables industry boasts that 'Wind' now produces the cheapest electricity. With the UK's electricity prices rising faster than most other comparable countries the claim seems absurd. The problem is that Electricity is priced 48 times in a 24 hour period. Every half an hour, generators offer capacity. The grid buys and, pays every generator the highest price offered. Yes, you read that correctly. The highest bid sets the price for all. It gets worse. If wind and or Solar generators contract to supply and the grid does not need the electricity, they get paid anyway. When there is no sun or wind and they fail to deliver they suffer no sanction. Any normal business buying from multiple sources averages their purchases to arrive at the input price. The Blob designed system we have was created to provide yet another subsidy for renewables. The make up of an electricity bill is instructive. A typical electricity bill is made up of four basic elements. The wholesale cost of buying from a generator 31%. Network costs in delivering the energy 24%. The operators cost including profit 16%. The Green Levy 24% and VAT 5%. Simplistically, 45% is taken up with middle-man costs and taxes. Surely a better system can be designed? Just averaging input prices would be a saving.

The originators of net zero were anarchists. Their dream was a world that existed prior to the Industrial Revolution. That world had One Billion Inhabitants. The green lobby has no idea, outside eating insects, how without modern means Eight Billion People are going to survive. Of course, fanatics have always acted against humanity in pursuit of a dream. Stalin's Holodmor and Mao's Great Leap Forward famine are examples. Sri Lanka is a warning. It is time to take stock. To do away with fanaticism and look at reality. The blob have much in common with anarchists and dictators. They share a belief that they, and only they, are right. Project fear that sought to derail Leave during the referendum campaign was designed and delivered by the Civil Service and their Blob friends. The contempt demonstrated for democracy and those whose views did not match the blob orthodoxy was staggering.

Alan and Marilyn Bergman lyrics to Michel Legrand's 'The Windmills of your Mind' has two lines that sum up the situation perfectly.

"Like a tunnel that you follow to a tunnel of its own

Down a hollow to a cavern where the sun has never shone"

We are in that Cavern, not that we agreed to be, but because the politicians we elected have blindly followed self appointed experts on a mad journey,

"Round like a circle in a spiral, like a wheel within a wheel

Never ending or beginning on an ever spinning reel"

It is time to stop the windmill. It is time for democracy and the people's needs to find its voice. Whoever is elected Prime Minister at the beginning of September has a monumental task. The real task, however, is not economic. It is no less than the restoration of democracy and accountability. We need a light shone on the Civil Service and its power. It must be made accountable and failings treated the same way they would be in any other job. The revolving door that rewards failure must be locked. The Woke perversion has, and is, damaging us on every level. We are long overdue a return to the normal values that the overwhelming majority support as obvious moral and biological truths.
