The well known author, broadcaster and columnist with The Daily Mail, Dr Simon Heffer, spoke to the Bruges Group about David Cameron's inability to face reality on Europe. Dr Heffer is known and respected for his cogent views on the EU, political correctness and the Conservative Party. Speaking alongside Simon Heffer was speaking alongside Dr Robin Harris who is known for his cogent views on British politics. He has also been an advisor to baroness Thatcher. Dr Harris is the author of the recently published book The Conservatives -- A History. His talk is titled; Britain, Europe and the Conservative Party - An Historical Perspective.

Dr Robin Harris
Robin Harris is a British author and journalist. He has written for The Daily Telegraph and Prospect magazine. He has a doctorate in history from Oxford University. When Margaret Thatcher was Prime Minister Robin Harris was a member of her Policy Unit from 1989 to 1990 becoming one of the former Prime Minister’s closest aides. Prior to his time at Number 10 he was the Director of the Conservative Research Department and a political advisor to the Treasury and then the Home Office. When Lady Thatcher left Downing Street, so did he; and Robin continues to advise her and assisted her with her books and speeches. Robin Harris has also completed a biography of Margaret Thatcher, to appear after her passing.
Robin Harris is known for his cogent views on British politics where he has been critical of David Cameron. Harris is the author of the recently published book The Conservatives – A History. Dr Harris' talk is titled; Britain, Europe and the Conservative Party - An Historical Perspective.
