Gordon has a special interest in southern Africa and India.  Lord Stoddart of Swindon is an Independent Labour politician and held senior positions in the Labour party during the 1970 and the ’80s. Now in the House of Lords he was the MP for Swindon. David Stoddart is still a vocal and active campaigner against the EU and he was the Chairman of the Campaign for an independent Britain. David Stoddart’s political interests include; the Commonwealth, economic policy, energy, the European Union, housing, industry, local government and transport.  Douglas Carswell is the UKIP Member of Parliament for Clacton. He was first elected to the House of Commons in 2005 as a Conservative but in 2014 he defected to UKIP, and was re-elected to Parliament with a 59.75% share of the vote. Douglas believes that public services fail all too often because power has increasingly been put in the hands of remote and unaccountable elites. Douglas is a leading advocate of Direct Democracy – pushing power away from Whitehall and Brussels, down to the individual, where possible, or failing that the town hall.
