John Redwood was appointed to the Cabinet in May 1993 when he became Secretary of State for Wales. In 1995 he challenged John Major for the Conservative Party leadership. In opposition he has acted as Shadow Secretary of State for Trade and Industry (1997-1999) Shadow Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions (1999-2000) and Shadow Secretary of State for Deregulation (2004-2005). He has written widely on Eurosceptic issues, free enterprise and democracy. Kate Hoey is the Labour Party Member of Parliament for Vauxhall. She served as the Minister for sport from 1999 until 2001. Kate was Parliamentary Under- Secretary of State at the Home Office from 1998 to 1999. Born in Belfast she is a strong supporter of the Union. Kate Hoey is Chairman of the Countryside Alliance. As a longstanding Eurosceptic she was a leading Labour rebel supporting a referendum on the Lisbon treaty. Kate also opposed the plan for the introduction of ID cards. Diane is a recently elected Member of the European Parliament representing the South-east Region. Diane was selected by UKIP as their Parliamentary Candidate in the Eastleigh by-election of February 2013. Diane is a Councillor on Waverley Borough Council and a UKIP candidate in the 2014 European elections. Prior to entering politics Diane’s career spanned over 30 years in the healthcare arena – both in the private and public sectors; initially as a business analyst and then specialising in healthcare strategy development, innovation and business transformation.
