The historian and broadcaster, Dr David Starkey, spoke at the Bruges Group's fringe meeting at the Conservative Party Conference. Also addressing this event was Mr Timo Soini the leader of the anti-EU bailout The Finns Party.

The historian and broadcaster spoke to the Bruges Group on a number of issues ranging from the British constitutional and economic crises and the crises of the euro and the European Union. Dr Starkey also talked about the opportunity for the Conservative Party to reach out to the previously excluded white working class
Mr Timo Soini
Speaking to the Bruges Group the important Finnish politician and leader of the True Finns Party, Mr Timo Soini, urged the citizens of those countries whose governments are making payments to bail out banks and failed countries in the eurozone without their consent, to use all means at their disposal to dissuade their leaders from doing so. These actions lobbying, demanding referendums and, if necessary, withholding their tax payments
