Bill Cash MP, Lord Pearson of Rannoch, and John Hayes MP speak on the campaign against the Lisbon Treaty, its progress through Parliament and why there must be a referendum on the revived and renamed EU Constitution.

The revived EU Constitution and the campaign against it
Bill Cash is the Member for Stone and was Shadow Attorney General from 2001 to 2003. He has been a member of the House of Commons European Scrutiny Committee since 1985. He was Chairman of the Conservative Backbench Committee of European Affairs 1988-91. In advance of what became the Maastricht Intergovernmental Conference Bill declined a Government position in 1991, choosing instead to orchestrate opposition to the Maastricht Treaty and founding the Maastricht Referendum Campaign. Bill was voted Parliamentary Campaigner of the Year 1991 by an independent panel of journalists.

Bill Cash is the Chairman of the European Foundation and was also Chairman of the Parliamentary Friends of the Bruges Group in the House of Commons. His publications include; Associated, Not Absorbed – The Associated European Area, Are we really Winning on Europe?, Against a Federal Europe: The Battle for Britain and British and German National Interests.

Opposing the Lisbon Treaty in the House of Lords
Lord Pearson of Rannoch was made a Life Peer by Margaret Thatcher, he now represents UKIP in the Lords. A prominent Eurosceptic, he has been a powerful critic of BBC pro-EU bias. Lord Pearson is a Patron of the Bruges Group. Lord Pearson will talk about campaign against the Lisbon Treaty in the House of Lords, and what we must do if the revived EU Constitution is forced upon us.

The implications of the Lisbon Treaty
John Hayes is the Conservative Member of Parliament for South Holland and the Deepings. John Hayes is a long standing Eurosceptic and a vocal opponent of the EU’s destruction of Britain’s fishing industry.

He has been Secretary of the Agriculture Select Committee and Vice-Chairman of the Conservative Backbench Education Committee. John was a Vice-Chairman of the Conservative Party until July 2000, after which he became a Front Bench Spokesman for Education and Employment. In September 2001, he was appointed an Opposition Whip. In July 2002, John was appointed Shadow Minister for Agriculture. And is now the Conservative Spokesman on Vocational Education.
