Bruges Group Conference

BETTER OFF OUT! OKAY, WHAT NEXT?

Developing policies for a post-EU Britain
Saturday, 18th November 2006
at King’s College London (see map below)

Bruges Group Conference

On Saturday, the Bruges Group will be holding a major conference in Kings College London. This conference will pave the way for withdrawal from the European Union and begin forcing this important issue onto the political agenda.

Philip Davies

Philip Davies, MP for Shipley will advocate withdrawal because,
"Britain's future prosperity depends on trading freely with China, India, the rest of the Commonwealth and North and South America. It does not depend on being part of an inward-facing backward looking protection racket set up to protect inefficient European farmers and businesses".

Damian Hannan

Daniel Hannan MEP will say,
"Leaving the EU should not be an end but a beginning. There is no point bringing powers back from Brussels only to let them fester in Whitehall. We should pass them downwards and outwards to local communities and, better still, individual citizens."

Nigel Farrage

Nigel Farage, MEP, Leader of UKIP, will say,
"Those that laughed at the Bruges Group have been forced to re-think their position. A recent ICM poll of a thousand British businesses showed that 60% want to revert to a simple free-trade agreement."

Bruges Group Conference2

Across the road from the Bruges Group’s Conference a parallel event will take place organised by the Brussels-linked Federal Union. They will be attempting to breathe life back into the discredited Constitution and EU integration.

Whereas the Bruges Group event shall be held in Kings College, on the Strand, the Federal Union’s event will take place at the LSE, Clement House on the Aldwych.

It will be interesting to note who has the most delegates.
