Biographies of the Speakers

Rt Hon. Sir John Redwood MP was appointed to the Cabinet in May 1993 when he became Secretary of State for Wales. In 1995 he challenged John Major for the Conservative Party leadership. In opposition he has acted as Shadow Secretary of State for Trade and Industry (1997-1999) Shadow Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions (1999-2000) and Shadow Secretary of State for Deregulation (2004-2005). He is the author of; Our Currency Our Country, Stars and Strife: The coming conflict between Europe and America and The Death of Britain?

Rt Hon. Arlene Foster, MLA was First Minister of Northern Ireland (2015 - 2017) spoke of the EU Referendum result;
"The democratic decision of the people of the United Kingdom marks a new and fresh beginning for our country and I believe offers us the opportunity to build a new, hopeful, and more democratic nation."
Arlene joined the DUP in 2004 and has been a senior representative for the party since that time. She has been an Executive member of the Democratic Unionist Party since 2004 and was elected leader of the Democratic Unionist Party on 17th December 2015.


Martin Howe QC is a leading barrister in the fields of intellectual property and EU law. He was called to the bar in 1978 and became a QC in 1996. He is Chairman of Lawyers for Britain which supports the British people's decision to leave the European Union and take back control of our laws, our courts, our money and our borders.

Rt Hon. Mark Francois MP is the Member of Parliament for Rayleigh and Wickford. He was Shadow Minister for Europe, 2007 – 2010, and then served as Vice-Chamberlain of HM Household until 2012 when Mark was appointed Minister for Defence Personnel, Welfare and Veterans. From 2013 he was Minister of State for the Armed Forces. From 2015 to 2016 Mark served as a Minister in the Department for Communities. He is the Deputy Chairman of the European Research Group.
